I apologize for my tardyness on my article. It won't happen again.
The NBA season has just kicked off in an unexpected manner. How about the new-look Lakers starting 0-3, the Knicks crushing the Heat, the Bobcats beating the Pacers, or perhaps James Harden and his Rockets winning their opener. I bet no one thought of this. A rematch of an Eastern Conference Quarterfinal displayed the NY Knicks absolutely silencing the Heat. Their domination on both sides of the floor prevented the Heat from spoiling their home opener. Apart from Melo's big game, the Knicks three-point shooting was spectacular. In the end, the Heat coudn't handle the home side, losing 104-84. Meanwhile, the Lakers find themselves in an 0-3 hole, dropping games to the Mavs, Blazers, and Clippers. In addition, Steve Nash fractured his fibula against the Blazers and will be out for at least a week. Last season, Micheal Jordan's team failed to win many games but this year it seems like that will change. Big games from Kemba Walker and Gerald Henderson helped spark an unexpected win against the Pacers. After being traded to the Rockets, James Harden helped his new team beat the Pistons 105-96. Look out because here come the Rockets.
Bad, Worse, Terrible:
- Miami Heat- Terrible- Coming off of Lebron's first ring, the Heat entered hostile environment where they failed to perform. Just a terrible game from the Heat.
- LA Lakers- Terrible- Everyone believed that this new Laker team might be able to challenge the Heat although the poor start they have had doesn't support their case. They turned the ball over carelessly and as a result, they are in a 0-3 hole. Terrible.
- Indiana Pacers- Worse- Last year the Pacers finished third in the East but they didn't show it against the Bobcats. It was a poor performance but because it was close I'll leave it at worse.
- Steve Nash- Bad- After being acquired by the Lakers, Steve Nash got injured in his second game. Nash fractured his fibula in his second game as a Laker. Because he will be out for a week or so which is why I'll leave it at bad.
Good, Great, Spectacular:
- Melo- Spectacular- In his season opener Carmelo Anthony put up spectacular numbers. Many didn't believein the Knicks although I'm sure that will change due to
Melo's performance. - James Harden- Spectacular- After being traded from OKC, James Harden took his beard to Houston where he led the Rockets to a 9-point victory against the Pistons.
- Jeremy Lin- Great- After being shipped to the Rockets, Jeremy Lin teamed up to beat the Pistons. In particular, Lin was very good when dishing out his assists.
- Jason Kidd- Good- Jason Kidd performed greatly against the Heat. It wasn't a great performance although, his three-point shooting was good. Look out for the Knicks.
